It’s Not The End, It’s Only The Beginning

Without a doubt, empathy and compassion are two essential emotions when listening to someone who decides to share their NDE.

The way José Vicente begins his story reminds us that talking about such an experience—whether positive or not—is always a difficult and courageous act for anyone who has lived through it and chooses to speak openly.

His testimony also shows that speaking about a personal NDE can be liberating, especially when those listening are able to create and hold a safe space for the conversation.

José Vicente shares his brother’s ECM. From the moment his brother was admitted to the hospital with no clear diagnosis to waking up after 51 days in the ICU, in his own words, it was “hell.” His experience is very different from most.

Hoje, he lives with a greater awareness of the present moment, has found peace and balance through meditation, and knows that death is not the end.
