The Challenges of Project LUZ

Project LUZ is the largest scientific research study currently being conducted in Spanish-speaking countries on near-death experiences (濒死体验). Last April, ICLOBY基金会, the organization responsible for carrying out the project, welcomed the visit of the director of its Advisory Board

For those involved in the Project, the visit held great significance because of Dr. van Lommel’s experience in this type of scientific process and his ability to share best practices that can help both the Foundation and the participating hospitals maintain the rigor and continuity required for a research project that will span eight years.

尤其, Project LUZ is being developed in progressive phases. Added to this is the fact that the participating hospitals — currently a total of 19 across three countries — are at different stages because they joined the study at different times. Alongside these two factors, an eight-year research project must also establish contingency plans to address the staff changes that naturally occur over time within the hospital teams assigned to the study. Work was carried out on all these aspects in order to create practices and processes that support the Project’s effectiveness and efficiency.

The working sessions took place in an atmosphere of both camaraderie and high standards. The main conclusion: some hospitals have already entered Phase 2, and the results observed so far are highly conclusive. We will continue sharing these findings in future publications.
