Return to Where You Were—You Still Have Much Left to Do

For Mari Carmen Porta, a 90-year-old woman from Spain, life is rooted in service.

Thanks to her near-death experience, she affirms that what awaits beyond death is something truly wonderful. In her own words, “there is no word in the dictionary that can express what is felt there.” Describing it as peace and calm falls short. She no longer fears death; on the contrary, she welcomes it with optimism, having been shown what it is like.

She believes that if she returned, it was to continue her journey of spiritual growth, among other purposes. She recognizes that this experience transformed her. 今天, she describes herself as more patient, more understanding toward others—and even toward herself. She believes that heaven knows how to wait, and she applies that lesson every day.
