Hospital 12 October Joins Project Luz

A warm welcome to University Hospital 12 October, WHICH BRINGS PROJECT LUZ TO A TOTAL OF 15 hospitals—13 in Spain, plus 2 in Argentina and Colombia.

Founded on October 2, 1973, University Hospital 12 de Octubre is one of Spain’s largest hospitals, with approximately 1,196 beds.

Over its 50-year history, it has continuously expanded its services and adopted new medical technologies, offering a comprehensive range of specialties in nearly all areas of medicine. Today, around 7,000 professionals work at the hospital, performing 40,000 surgeries and handling more than 250,000 emergency casesannually.

Since its inception, the hospital has been closely linked to university education. Every year, it trains over 400 medical students from the Complutense University of Madrid, along with a similar number of nursing students, and supports 500 professionals undergoing postgraduate training.

According to statistics, Hospital 12 October is currently conducting more than 200 research projects in various medical fields, including cancer and rare diseases. Around 300 professionals are actively involved in scientific research at the hospital.
